GRANTfinder

CVA are pleased to announce that, with the support of Craven District Council, we now have a new grant finding program to help local voluntary and community sector groups.

As we all know, funding is often the main topic and problem for third sector groups. Craven Voluntary Actions Funding Manager, Victoria Lunn, will now be able to assist groups around Craven with this dynamic internet based program. Unlike earlier funding programmes, Grantfinder is updated twice monthly and sends out notifications of grant making bodies that are about to open funding streams via email. When a search is carried out detailed information about potential funders aswell as links to websites and online applications can be accessed. If you would like more information about this new service from CVA please contact Victoria on 01756 701056 or email her via the contacts page.

UnLtd -The Foundation for Social Entrepreneurs, Investing in individuals, changing communities

UnLtd support people who want to make a positive change in their community. Unlike other funders they make cash awards available to individuals, rather than to formal groups or other charitable associations. They call these individuals 'social entrepreneurs'. Entrepreneur, because they have the ideas and the ability to make things happen and social because it will be for the community benefit.

There are ten funding rounds in a year and the application process starts with a phone call, there are no forms available till they understand the nature of your project and then they will be able to give you an indication of suitability. This saves the endless paperwork! At Level 1, which offer's seed corn funding for new projects, up to £5000 is available. This cannot be used to fund just training or educational qualifications or to pay for your time. You cannot apply if it is part of your paid employment or expect to employ others to carry out the project.

The criteria is different at Level 2, which has a upper limit of £20,000. This is to support projects that are already developed and can show that the Award is needed for a real expansion and development of an original idea or to pay for the living expenses of someone to give them more time for their project.

The UnLtd funding stream is not time limited and is available across Britain.
